About

Before a medicine or vaccine can be sold in a country, that country's national regulator has to authorise it. Many regulators in lower- and middle-income countries (LMICs) have limited staff and resources, which can slow approvals and delay patients' access to new medicines. Reliance procedures offer a faster route. Rather than repeating the whole assessment, a national regulator can build on work already done by a trusted reference authority.

This interactive tool helps you navigate regulatory reliance pathways available for priority medicines and vaccines intended for LMICs. It visualises all international reliance pathways available for a given medicine or vaccine, helping you identify the optimal route to approval by a National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) in your target LMIC.
